New research shows that children wake up to smoke alarms with familiar voices much more easily than they do with traditional smoke alarms that beep. In tests, 100 percent of children wake up to their mother’s voice message played at 1:00am in the morning. This compared to 57 percent wakening to the current smoke alarm signal, played at the same time of night and at the same volume.
Sam the smoke detector uses a vocal alarm. This concept is designed for younger children. This smoke detector lets you record your own personalized message as the alarm. Not only does it detect smoke, when triggered it features bright lights and loud speakers to ensure your child wakes up.
